Who performs the aesthetic treatments at EHA Clinic?
All treatments are done by registered medical doctors who are licensed under the Singapore Medical Council (SMC). These doctors follow the Guidelines on Aesthetic Practices for Doctors under MOH, and only perform procedures that they are trained and certified to do.
Are all the procedures offered evidence-based?
Dr Elias Tam: We offer treatments that are supported by scientific evidence and clinical studies. Some newer or less common treatments may have lower levels of evidence, and in such cases, the doctor will discuss with you during consultation, including known risks and realistic outcomes.
Can non-medical staff perform aesthetic procedures?
No. Under current regulations, only medical or dental practitioners registered under the relevant Singapore laws may perform licensable healthcare procedures. Non-medical or non-dental practitioners are not permitted to carry out such treatments unless expressly allowed under regulation.
Are “before and after” photos shown on your website or advertisements?
No. According to the Healthcare Services (Advertisement) Regulations, advertisements must not contain “before and after” or “after only” treatment photos or videos. However, during your in-clinic consultation, the doctor may show such examples to help explain possible results, with contextual information.
Can you guarantee outcomes?
Dr Elias Tam: No clinic can guarantee a specific outcome for every patient. Individual results depend on many factors (skin condition, age, medical history, lifestyle, etc.). During your consultation, we will provide an honest assessment of what is realistic for you. Any claims of guaranteed or “best” results are not permissible under advertising regulations.
What are the risks and side effects of aesthetic treatments?
Dr Elias Tam: Each procedure carries potential risks (e.g. infection, pigmentation changes, scarring, temporary discomfort). We will fully discuss these with you during consultation, including after-care requirements. You will be asked to sign an informed consent form.
How much does each treatment cost?
Costs vary depending on the procedure, number of sessions, area treated, and individual patient factors. We aim to be as transparent as possible. A detailed cost estimate will be provided during the consultation.
Are the medical devices, injectables etc. used in treatments approved in Singapore?
Yes. We only use devices, injectables, and products that are approved / registered with the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) or otherwise meet local regulatory requirements.
Can minors (under 18) undergo aesthetic procedures?
Generally, aesthetic procedures are not recommended for minors unless there is a clear medical or developmental reason, and with parental consent. For any case involving someone under 18, doctors will carefully assess suitability, risks, benefits, and legal/ethical considerations.
