HOW CAN YOU PREVENT HYPERPIGMENTATION?

Prevention is truly better than trying to cure pigmentation through ultheraphy once it starts. Here are some simple to follow tips that can help you hold pigmentation and freckling at bay!

1) Wearing a sunscreen of at least SPF 15 daily and avoiding sun exposure is crucial in preventing hyper pigmentation. We recommend our EHA Sunshield 24hr as just one application (unless you swim, sweat or get wet) is adequate and you won’t need to reapply every 2-4 hours.
2) Its important to remember that discoloration is also in dead surface cells, so be sure to exfoliate regularly to slough off the build-up, which will help minimize hyper pigmentation. We recommend our EHA Gentle Exfoliating Gel, which uses enzymes in place of rough granules or micro beads, making it very gentle but effective.
3) If you have dry, sensitive or mature skin, it is best to exfoliate 1-2 times a week. If you have combination to oily skin, exfoliating 2-3 times a week is recommended. However, facial scrubs should not be used on acne erupted skin as they are too abrasive and can worsen the condition.
