Dr. Chen De Quan

Family Physician at EHA Clinic @ Jurong

Dr Chen De Quan is the resident Family Physician at EHA Clinic @ Jurong, a CHAS-enrolled GP clinic serving the Jurong community since 1998. With 20 years of clinical experience, he previously practised in government restructured hospitals across various medical and surgical disciplines, including Paediatrics, Accident & Emergency, Infectious Diseases and Cardiology, gaining invaluable experience before commencing private practice at EHA Clinic @ Jurong.

Why Does Dr Chen's Hospital Training Matter for GP Patients?

Dr Chen trained across multiple medical and surgical disciplines before entering private practice. For patients managing more than one condition at a time — for example, diabetes alongside a heart condition, or an infection in someone with a chronic illness — this breadth of training allows Dr Chen to assess and understand each condition in greater depth during consultation.

What Conditions Does Dr Chen Treat?

Chronic diseases: Diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol. Dr Chen reviews chronic patients at regular intervals to monitor medication response, adjust dosages, and detect complications early.

Acute and general illnesses: Respiratory infections, fever, gastrointestinal illness, UTIs, and other common acute conditions.

Skin conditions: Eczema, urticaria, and acne. Dr Chen holds a Certificate of Competence from the National Skin Centre (NSC) and the Aesthetic Dermatology Education Group (ADEG), with more than 10 years of experience in laser treatments, including tattoo removal.

Beyond chronic and acute care, Dr Chen also sees patients for preventive health, travel medicine, and general health screening and occupational medicine needs.

Patients with a valid CHAS, Pioneer Generation, or Merdeka Generation card are eligible for subsidised consultations and medications for chronic and acute conditions. See the official CHAS scheme page.

Does Dr Chen Speak Mandarin or Hokkien?

Dr Chen consults in English, Mandarin, Hokkien, and some Malay — allowing patients who are more comfortable discussing symptoms in their mother tongue to do so directly.
