Dermatologists are blaming smartphones and tablets for causing sagging skin and wrinkles on the necks of women as young as 18 years! That is definitely too young to be facing aesthetic issues.
The latest ailment to result from modern technology can be found mostly in people aged 18 to 39 who own an average of three devices.
“Tech neck” refers to a specific crease just above the collar bone that is caused by repeated bending of the neck to look at the screen of a portable device. Wrinkles and sagging jowls used to begin in late middle age but, in the last 10 years, it has become more common in younger women.
Because the skin on the neck is exposed to the sun every day and most women are less inclined to protect their necks compared to their faces, thus leaving their neck vulnerable to wrinkling and sagging.
